Seth Frightening - B.Hoo /
Released December 2011.
A recent excavation revealed these three fine outpourings of spirit; Uniquely coloured and powerful forms laid down on laptops in bedrooms and hospital hallways with contagious sincerity and words tinged with protest and the fear of reality that comes alongside modern injustice and social awareness. A rare and wonderful listen!

Seth Frightening - B.Hoo / High School
Released December 2011.
Forward to the past! Here goes a wee selection of songs written and recorded in Seth Frightening’s high school days; Sincere tracks laid down in the lofi bedroom style by a wise young man, excavated from broken hard drives and still bearing the character of minidisc glitches and planes taking off in the background.

Glass Vaults - Into Clear EP
Released November 2011.
Glass Vault’s Into Clear is a pale blue sky. Half awake / Half asleep. Humming incantations. Richard Larsen and Rowan Pierce - now with the help of Signer & Skallander legend, Bevan Smith - using their usual mishmash of electronics, voice & guitars, have cast forth a new EP; This one more consistently ambient than the last, gently rubbing at your ears like a good friend (for a solid 28 minutes). Each song is a wide open space but extremely delicate; for the most part moving at a slow, almost changeless hover and then shifting subtly as if guided by a gentle hand.
Richard’s singing voice, at times breath-taking, earnestly sets the scene for each track, floating through dream-state electronics singing songs of light and fading memories. Glass Vaults give the listener three choices; engage, submit or ignore. These are hymns for no One but Everyone.

Golden Dawn - I
Released August 2011.
“I” is a 13 minute recording composed of guitar, tape player, radio, organ and cymbal, the structure of which develops hesitantly over the course of four conjoined movements.
Heavily earthed shapes swirl inside of organic architectures, deeply cerebral textures metamorph between forms,
and in unity this dual forms a narrative which slowly illuminates a path through the irresolute charm of its ambience.

Forest Spirits - EP
Released April 2011.
…. breathes heavily, panting through up beat soul-fucking anthems, twisted dance beats and cascading arpeggios, Forest Spirits has produced a wonderful EP (though at 34 mins it could be called otherwise). Composed via Ableton Live using a range of samples taken from soundtracks of films made in the 1930s we find ourselves immersed in music which is balancing between pop and the style of a 21-year-old channeling a child on amphetamines. ENJOY!!

A Dead Forest Index - Antique EP
Released March 2011.
Recently remastered for Sonorous Circle release, ‘Antique’ is a short and brooding EP. The brothers Sherry have produced four tracks of heavy imagery with layers of vocals that build like a smothering smoke; Eloquently hissing lines like “turning the distance into a pattern… endlessly illuminating”, and “I plant myself inside your veins; they are now my home”. The acapella brings a black out. Guitar lines chug along slowly with a beautifully toned and vibrant sound that blends nostalgically with the drums in their mutually unremitting rhythms. These could be apocalyptic psalms. Probably a good idea to keep an eye out of your face for these dudes.

Bleachboys - Chthonic Worship
Released February 2011.
Magnetic weight train makes way through snowstorm. Icey assault, collapsing spacetime and vibrational pole reversal impede and train slows but does not grind to halt, for it is governed by forces that manifest beyond the science and before the magic.
This is an eleven point five minute piece of dark and light ambient originally released on cassette (super limited and now sold out), available today for your listening pleasure in digital formation.

Klive - Sweaty Psalms
Released February 2011.
Electronic music made with experimental and IDM tendencies from complex and intriguing sounds. Detailed like detritus with the character of creatures and electrified oceans. Just the right amount of grime with organic grace. Subtle audio manipulation used to create other worlds with the warmth of home. This is an album that requires patience, for there is little that is rushed and with much layering and depth it remains elusive after repeat listens. Originally self-released in Iceland in 2008, Sweaty Psalms is now available for download or on CD in limited supply from our neck of the woods!

Minnelli - 2
Released November 2010.
‘2′ moves cinematically from a restrained but powerful synth-laden epic through hints of dark 80’s, glacial pop and intergalactic dreams of psychedelic bliss while fractured rhythms send a downbeat danceability over swirling, shimmering ambience that flows compellingly towards territory DJ Shadow might have roamed had he been enthused by ancient transcendentalism.
This is a highly varied but coherent and well contoured half hour - an intricately layered and innovative sample-based construction well worth a listen and freely downloadable below.

Paperghost - The Teledermatologist Handbook
Released September 2010.
Veils of dust gather on layers of jostling sonic dimensions teetering on the edge of intelligibility like crumbling electroacoustic concrete, but dressed up as the most imaginative, fragile, ornate and paranormal pop music to be made in the 1940s. Macro, meso and micro-sound magic!

Glass Vaults - Glass EP
Released June 2010.
Richard and Rowan have taken their guitars, voices, drums and dream-triggering gadgetry, drenched them in the vapour of clouds and given birth to an intimate and sentimental sonic experience. It sounds like nature is patient and melodious on the farm where this here EP was recorded! Five beautiful pop delights with the added bonus of lost-in-the-ocean vibes, all freely downloadable and now also available on colour-vinyl (!) thanks to US label Jukboxr.
SCR005
Arkitype - Meats the Beatles
Released April 2010.
This is Arkitype’s first release on the Circle - a free-to-download eight-track collection of sacrilegious (but highly tasteful) remixes of the biggest band that ever was. Raaaaaaaaad! Enjoy.

Seth Frightening - The Prince and His Madness
Released 18th January 2010
This is ‘Seth’s first album, written in early 2009 and recorded only on his laptop microphone (though you wouldn’t know it!). It is a beautiful, honest, folk-pop-noise masterpiece displaying his seemingly effortless knack for song-writing and instrumental intricacies. This is only my humble opinion of course but I implore you to take a listen for yourself!
Limited CD’s available. Comes in a high quality card wallet with felt inlay to prevent disc scratching and protective plastic sleeves with original artwork by Alexander Mitcalfe Wilson and Seth Frightening.

In the Interest of the Convoy - Invincible Summer
Released April 2009.
This is the deput ep from Melbourne based soundscapist “In the Interest of the Convoy”. Currently available in ‘ones and ohs’ (physical manifestation imminent), you can expect to hear a combination of sparse washes, rhythmic undulations, mock string ensembles and plenty of momentum.
With sounds provided by Sam Sproull (This City Sunrise) and Matt Faisandier (Akaname/Ornithologist/100 Suns) and ornamented by the visual interpretations of Sera Hocquard, this collaboration was recorded from the ceiling of an aging warehouse in the midst of one of the gustiest storms Melbourne has played host to in some time.
This CDR contains 39 minutes and 7 seconds of unsevered improvised music comprising of two movements. Two guitars, a synthesiser and traffic noise recorded on a rooftop in Wellington City with a quote from Jay Weidner added after the fact.
This City Sunrise - TCS Sings in Unison (DISTRO)
Originally from Wellington, NZ, This City Sunrise are now smashing out their tunes in Melbourne, Australia. The lads cook up a fine three course meal throwing in massively solid rhythms, generous fistfuls of elaborate melody and a colorful side of satisfying harmony, all garnished with excellent composition and full use of the dynamic spectrum.
